5 simple ways to get your customers to pay on time
Wouldn’t it be fantastic if your customers and clients pay on time, every time? It not only improves your cash flow, but it gets rid of the stress and hassle of chasing up late payments.
So this short video gives you 5 simple tools that you can use to make sure your customers pay on time. And it doesn’t include a baseball bat or a golf club.
Tip 1: Be up front with payment terms
Right from day 1 you’ve got to be up front with your payment terms. Make it clear what’s due, and when it’s due. And if you want them to pay a deposit, be clear and up front about it.
If they don’t know you terms, they can’t be expected to know how to pay on time.
Tip 2: Tell them how you want paying
Tell your customers exactly how you want paying to avoid any confusion when it comes to it. Cheque, card payment, bank transfer – tell them!
Tip 3: Reminders
Just like you and your busy life, your clients and customers have busy lives. So help them out with a simple reminder before or on the day you want paying. Just text, email or a quick phone call.
For me, the quickest way to get paid is by credit or debit card, or bank transfers.
Tool 1: iZettle
A fantastic portable device that plugs into your smartphone or tablet. It’s an easy way for you to take card payments from your customers.
The device is free and has very low interest rates, with an online dashboard that’s simple an easy to use.
Tool 2: GoCardless
GoCardless does the same as a bank transfer, but it cuts out the need for customers setting you up on their banking making the process quicker.
You will get a link to send to your customers with their invoice – they click the link, fill in their details, click send, and your customers pay on time.
Take action, now!
These simple tips and tools are easy to set up and easy to use. Don’t wait until you’re in trouble because customers haven’t paid you.
It’s your responsibility to take action right now to make sure your customers pay on time.
